  • WHAT?!
  • Honey I'm afraid to tell you that the Stock Market Crash has begun. We must be prepared if we lose our jobs.

  • Black Tuesday has ruined everything.
  • Discrimination
  • We've just been let go from our jobs.
  • On October 24th, 1929 the Stock Market. We lost 30 billion dollars in market value. Millions of people lost their jobs..
  • Discrimination against women
  • Black Tuesday was also known as the day the Stock Market crashed. This was one of the reason the Great Depression started. Many people lost their jobs as well during the Great Depression. 25% of men wen't unemployed.
  • Homelessness
  • I've lost everything and now I've lost my house.
  • With the Great Depression came with discrimination against African Americans. African Americans were the first to be cut from jobs, and they experienced the highest unemployment rate during the 1930s.
  • Savings lost
  • What are we going to do?
  • We have lost all of our savings in the bank!
  • Women experienced a lot of discrimination during the Great Depression. In a few instances employers were failing to pay their women employees. Many women were fired or let go from their jobs.
  • I can't seem to get a job anywhere!
  • During the Great Depression thousands became homeless. These people blamed the government for not helping with their homelessness. Towns of homeless people called "Hoovervilles" Began to form.
  • Another major impact of the Great Depression is that the banks began to fail. This caused many people to loose all of their savings in the bank.
