- Lord Capulet's anger on Juliet's refusal to marry Paris
- But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next/To go with Paris to Saint Peter's Church/ Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither.
- The Nurse's advice for Juliet
- I think you are happy in this second match/ For it excels your first. Or if it did not/ Your first is dead; or 'twere as good he were/ As living here, and you no use of him.

- During this scene Juliet refuses to marry Paris whom Lord Capulet finds as a suitor to Juliet after Tybalt's death, but Capulet misunderstands her decision to being disrespectful and lashes out on her and being forceful and saying "But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next/To go with Paris to Saint Peter's Church/ Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither." (III.v.153-155) Which might foreshadow their death towards the ending. 
- The Nurse advices Juliet for the time being to agree to the marriage since Romeo's been banished and it is rare he would challenge this marriage because it is dangerous. She tries to show how Paris is much better than Romeo and Juliet even agrees with her "I think you are happy in this second match/ For it excels your first. Or if it did not/ Your first is dead; or 'twere as good he were/ As living here, and you no use of him." (III.v.223-226)
- In the end Juliet decides to meet up with Friar Lawrence to look for a solution together about hers and Romeo's marriage, but she also decides to end her life if nothing else works as she says "I'll to the friar, to know his remedy/ If all else fail, myself have power to die." (III.v.243-244)
