- Lets tax the colonists!
- Great idea!
- I hate this taxation without representation!
- I know, It's not fair, I hate the motherland!
- The British were very low on money due to protecting the colonists in the 7 Years war, so they resorted to taxing the colonists.
- The Colonist were not happy with the taxes that the British had imposed, especially because they had no one to represent them. These taxes led to protests and resistance with the colonists.
- They must be punished!
- Those pesky colonists threw away our tea!
- British officials accused of crimes will have trials in Britain!
- More resistance grew, and British troops were stationed in the 13 colonies, in 1770 British soldiers misunderstood an order and fired at a group of protesters killing several people.
- Massachusetts Government now appointed by British!
- British Soldiers May Occupy any building!

- in 1773 a group of colonists dressed as Mohawks boarded British ships in Boston and destroyed a fortune of tea. This was known as the Boston tea party, which was a protest against the Tea act.
- After news of the Boston Tea Party had reached London by 1774, parliament restored British authority by punishing the Colonists with a series of Acts known as the Intolerable Acts.
- The British Americans were very unhappy with the acts and considered them a violation of their constitutional rights. The colonists saw the acts as a threat to the freedom of all British Americans.
