Starr is headed to her Uncle Carlos' neighborhood, and her mom, Lisa, is driving. Lisa notices that Starr is sad about Khalil's death, and that she thinks everything is her fault.
To teach Starr an important lesson, Lisa brings up the fact that Starr wasn't breathing when she was born, and this shocks Starr.
Lisa helps Starr understand that she did everything she could to help bring Khalil justice, and even if things still go bad, she shouldn't lose hope.
