  • the main character,winston smith enters the city in a cold april and walks through the streets of london shivering, and knowing his goal to chnage the future of the planet.

  • winston toes the party line with his lies to change the future by rewriting history to solve issues with the demands of the ministry of truth,however sees the posters and knows someone is watching from behind the shadows.

  • winstons finds more clues in the past in the church ruins of st clement and at the victory square and lavatory,community center(the people freely doing their own things represent the freedom in society at that time during 1980s)

  • winston is in jail and even sees someone breaking out and trying to flee but to be beaten up by guards(foreshadow that people with old ways are not preserved in this new world)
  • winston finds the truth,the partyq is just merely toachieve poeer over the country and not for equality or freedom. but he tries to remain vigilant no matter the pain in the torture in the confines of the dungeon knowing its too late and the world has already changed
  • in the end winston wins over the simself and snaps back to reality to find himself looking at an empty glass,he knew his big brother has always loved him snd not in the other vision,the winston in the story mood symbolises the despair about the future of mankind about them losing their human qualites and becoming mindless automatrons
