Storyboard Text
- Ponyboy and Johnny sit with Cherry and Marcia at the movies
- Ponyboy and Johnny get jumped and Johnny kills Bob
- Ponyboy and Johnny run away to the church by Jay Mountain
- This is the event that starts off the novel. Cherry and Marcia are Socs, and they already have boyfriends. Ponyboy sitting with Cherry causes the next event.
- The church catches on fire
- Ponyboy and Johnny get jumped because they sat with Bob and Randy's girlfriends. When Ponyboy is being drown Johnny stabs Bob. Now Johnny is wanted for murder.
- Johnny is badly hurt and in the hospital
- Ponyboy and Johnny are scared and go to Dally for help. Dally gives them money, a gun, and tells them to go to the church by Jay mountain.
- The Rumble
- Dally takes Ponyboy and Johnny to lunch, when they arrive back at the church it is on fire and there are kids trapped inside. Johnny and Ponyboy go inside the fire to save the kids. Ponyboy is unconscious and Johnny is injured and badly burnt.
- Johnny is burnt and has a broken back. When his mom tries to come visit him he says that he doesn't want to see her. Ponyboy brings Johnny a copy of gone with the wind and then leaves to go to the rumble.
- The rumble is the big fight between the Socs and Greasers. There are no weapons and the greasers teamed up with the gang from Brumly. The greasers win the rumble, but Ponyboy got a bad concussion.
