Storyboard Text

  • It's pretty hot today. Water is evaporating right before our very eyes. The water gains thermal energy, causing the molecules to move faster and turn into water vapor.
  • The water vapor condenses and turns from a gas back into water droplets.
  • The water vapor attaches onto tiny dust particles and form clouds. As they get farther up into the atmosphere, it gets colder so they lose thermal energy.
  • Quack
  • But eventually, the water droplets get too heavy and gravity brings them down. This is called precipitation. It can fall as rain, snow, hail, or sleet.
