The call of the adventure in The Outsiders is when the Greasers and the Socs have beef between them, and Johnny kills one of the socs (Bob) to save Ponyboy from dying. This then results in both sides wanting to fight.
4. Trials
The assistant that Ponyboy gets is his friends, the Greasers. They will be there to back each other up in the fight so they can win. Also, Dally tells Johnny and Ponyboy that they need to run away to not get caught. Dally knows he has the perfect spot where they can hide.
5. Approach
Johnny and Ponyboy end up catching a train to escape the cops. Once they caught the train, they were on their way to hide in the abandoned church that Dally told them about
6. Crisis
Ponyboy and Johnny have now found the abandoned Church and are waiting for extra help and advice from Dally. They are also very board and know they cannot leave because the cops will find and arrest them.
Dally arrives at the church just as promised and brings some needed information. Word about the murder is out and Dally says they went to Texas. Even though they are not. Johnny is having a hard time with everything going on and decides he may turn himself in to the police.
Johnny and Pony go back to the Church to discuss some more, and then they see the unthinkable. The hide-out that Ponyboy and Johnny were living in, started to burn down. Distressed teachers tell them there are kids inside. Without hesitation they ran into the Church, to save the children inside of it.
