  • Growing up in Alabama, where the KKK intimidated her community, Angela Davis's young life was full of hardships, but she was always eager to help 
  • No, I want to help our friends who were hurt!
  • Angela, we have to take cover! The Klan is bombing the neighborhood!
  • Her mother became involved as an activist, and civil rights issues influenced young Angela who joined her mother at meetings
  • Communism is a good way to create social equality!
  • Angela later attended high school in New York, and was introduced to Communist and Socialist ideas, which she embraced
  • Angela earned a Master's in psychology, and continued to advocate for equal rights by joining groups like SNCC as a college student
  • We have to fight for our rights and equality in the South!!!
  • Angela became a professor at UCLA, but was fired due to her ties to communism. She eventually fought the firing, and got her job back!
  • You can't fire me! It's illegal!
  • You can't teach here, you're a Communist!
  • Angela worked with more groups like the Black Panthers, and grew a campaign fighting unfair prison treatment
  • Our prisons are unsafe and inhumane! We need prison reform!
