- The new house
- exploring the new area
- one day bruno came home from school to see maria packing all his things. He was very confused and kind of scared because he did not know what was happening. she had explained that they have to move due to their fathers job.
- Dinner with kottler
- The next day they moved to their new house. Bruno was already missing his old house back in berlin.
- seeing shmuel cleaning glasses
- After bruno finished helping bring all his boxes to his room he decided to go for a walk on a path leading to a big fence. He wanted to find out what that fence is so he kept walking. when he got to the fence he saw a little boy in stripped pajamas. He decided to go up and talk to him even though he was in the other side of the fence. They became friends and bruno started to visit him every day.

- Later that day they had a family supper with someone that worked for his father and his name was kottler. The food was good but then close to the end of supper kottle and father got into a little bit of a argument. They started to argue about kottlers father leaving and not defending his country but then father says "this is not the time to talk about this".
- A few days later bruno walked into his kitchen to see his new friend shmuel from behind the fence he was cleaning glasses. bruno had went into the kitchen to get something to eat so he had asked his friend if he wanted some. Shmuel had taken some he ate it really fast so no one saw him but then kottler walked him he started yelling and asked bruno if he new who shmuel was and why he was talking to him. Bruno said he had no clue who shmuel was and that had gotten shmuel in big trouble.
- A long time after bruno had gotten shmuel in trouble he went and said sorry they were back to being best friends after that. But one day bruno had said "we have been friends for almost a year and have not played with each other yet ". so they decided that bruno would go over the fence and help shmuel find his pa then they could play after. But it did not end up being what they wanted it to be they looked for pa but could not find him. Then they got caught in a group of people and got lead to a dark building and they ended up not being able to get out and they died........
