- Montresor finds Fortunato drunk on the street and greets him as his friend. He is doing this to gain his trust so he can get revenge.

- Montresor tells Fortunato that he just bought a wine called Amontillado. Fortunato is quite surprised and wants to try it.

- Montresor chains up fortunato. He starts putting stones in the hole in the wall.
- montresor finishes putting up the stones. He says goodbye to fortunato
