- The Germans are told to begin "phase one" of this battle. They bomb coastal ports and ships.
- They then begin to perform raids across Britain.
- The Germans started to attack the towns and people later that month.
- The Germans came through in an attempt to wipe out Britain's air force to take the coast.
- August, 1940
- In this part of the battle alone, there were one-hundred and seventy five RAF aircraft lost, and three hundred and twenty two Luftwaffe plane losses.
- On the twentieth August Winston Churchill made his famous speech to parliament.
