- Mafatu was afraid of the sea when they were dragged by a sea current and drowned, but her mother saved him even if it cost her, her own life.
- While Mafatu is making nets and spears, he overheard some kids talking about how he is as a Stout Heart and how he was afraid of the sea, one of them approached him and asked if he wants to come, but he refused, giving them a reason for calling him a coward.
- Ha! He is afraid!
- Mafatu is a coward.
- After what happened, Mafatu was finally determined to face his fear and prove it to everyone. So, he had left and sailed onto the sea. Until it crashed and luckily discovered an unknown island. where he stayed and used his skills to survive.
- While using all of his skills to survive on the island, (fighting a boar, finding food, and others) he tried to make a canoe so that when he got home, he can proudly show it to his father. Eventually, he finished the canoe.
- After finishing the canoe that Mafatu made, he took a rest and fell into a deep sleep. Until, a loud thump woke him up, and the eaters-of-men arrived and chased him but he luckily escaped and went into his canoe.
- Mafatu continued his journey to go home after he was chased and almost captured by the eaters-of-men. And when Mafatu arrived, everyone was surprised when they saw him, and his father truly became proud of him.
