Major Powers
During its merciless conquest, Japan committed multiple war crimes such as the Nanjing Massacre. Upset with Chinese resistance, Japanese soldiers looted, slaughtered, and raped thousands Chinese citizens in the fallen capital Nanjing.
The Japanese sunk a non-combatant ship; Lifeboats were scattered, but twenty two nurses and a group of men made landfall on Banka Island. The men were killed and the Nurses were marched waist deep into the sea, lined up, shot, and killed. Only one nurse survived by pretending to be dead.
