- Rainsford and Zaroff face off in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
- So
- Rainsford wanted to survive and escape the island. Zaroff wanted a more exciting hunt because he was bored with animals. Hunting humans gave him a bigger challenge.
- Then
- Zaroff forced Rainsford to play the game and be hunted. Rainsford was also a clever, skilled hunter and was able to evade Zaroff. Rainsford was more of a challenge than Zaroff thought.
- Rainsford eluded Zaroff using the traps for a while, but then had to jump off a cliff when Zaroff was closing in. Zaroff thought Rainsford was dead and that he had won the game.
- Rainsford suddenly appeared in Zarroff’s bedroom. Zaroff was shocked to see he was alive! Rainsford killed Zaroff and slept soundly in the bed. He had won the game.
