I am Frederick Douglass. I was an African American Abolitionists during the Civil war. I fought for African Americans rights to fight in the Civil War, I was able to convice Abraham Lincoln to let African Americans to fight in the Civil war.
I am Stonewall Jackson I was a military general for the Confederate army. I lead troops at the battle of Antietam, Manassas, and Fredericksburg. I died at the battle of Chancellorsville when my soldiers accidentally mistakened me for an enemy.
Firing on Fort Sumter was the first battle of the Civil War. On April of 1861, it was fired upon by rebel forces. The Confederacy won and Major Robert Anderson surrendered the fort and evacuated the next day.
The Battle of Antietam was the bloodiest single day battle of the Civil War on September 17, 1862. About 23,000 men were wounded or dead. The Union led by William Sherman defeated the Confederacy.
The Battle of Gettysburg was fought from July 1 to 3, 1863. On July 4, 1863, the Confederacy lost to the Union. The victories gave the Union control of the Mississippi River and stopped Confederate General Lee from invading the North.
Between May-July 1863, the Siege of Vicksburg led by General Grant gave the Union power and control of the Mississippi River and that divided the Southern states. The Confederates depended on the river to transports their supplies and now they are completely cut off.
