  • Acording to the map in the front of the book the familes lived in apartments and also had parade grounds and an officers club.

  • In chapter 26 it states that convict baseballs were very valuble to kids and that convicts did play baseball in the recreation yard.

  • On page 207 it states that the wifes of the guards did censore the mail.

  • In the authors notes it states apartments one called buliding was called 64. Also that there was a parade grounds tiny grocey store and a officer's club similar to the book.
  • In the author's notes it states that the inmates played handball and soft ball in a walled off recreation yard aslo the convict baseball's were valuble to the kids on Alcatraz.
  • On page 222 in the authors notes that the mail was often censorded by the wives of the guards by reading over it seeing if there was anything thing that could help the convict escape.
