Storyboard Text
Pallas Minerva heard about Arachne, who was famed for her skill in the art of spinning but gave no credit to the goddess for her skill.
Minerva disguises herself as an old woman and confronts Arachne, who scorns her.
Minerva reveals herself as a goddess and they engage in a contest in the art of spinning.
Minerva weaved the gods and then four scenes of contests challenging the gods and their consequences in her tapestry.
Arachne's work depicted divine deceptions by the gods against mortals beginning with Europa and ending with Saturn begetting Chiron.
Minerva sees the gods' crimes on Arachne's tapestry and strikes her on the forehead, turning Arachne into a spider.
