- Rome was ruled by Kings for 240 years.
- The Republic of Rome
- I crossed the Rubicon and beat Pompey, but was killed a year later.
- Roman Invasion of Britain
- We crossed the channel and landed on the South coast.
- In 753BC, the city of Rome and the Roman Kingdom were created. In 510BC the Kingdom fell and the Republic of Rome started.
- What did the Romans want?
- We are going to get gold and silver from Britain!!
- Julias Caesar is victorious in civil war and beats Pompey to become supreme ruler of Rome. This was the end of the Roman Republic.
- How the Romans changed Britain
- In 43AD the Emperor Claudius led the Romans to invade Britain. He wanted to become more popular with his people in Rome.
- The Romans built many things
- I built Hadrian's wall in 122AD to keep the Northern invaders from the South
- The Romans wanted many things from Britain, such as lead, wood, tin and wool.
- The Romans brought in libraries, cats, rabbits, baths, and lots of other things like wine and clean water.
- The Romans built roads, towns, walls and aquaducts. Britain became independent from Rome in 410AD but we still have many of the things that the Romans introduced.
- The main Roman towns were London, Colchester and St. Albans. Any town ending -chester -cester or -caster was once a Roman town.
