- So, I'm a little confused on where some facilities are in the building and how many floors below or above they are from my apartment, I live on the 12th floor. So how would I get from the movie theater to the gym?
- Okay! So since your apartment is on the 12th floor and the movie theater is on the 15th floor you would have to go upstairs or on the elevator 3 stories up. While for the gym you would go down the elevator 9 stories or the stairs to be on the 6th floor.
- Equation: 12+3+(-9) 15+(-9)= 6

- Hm... Now that I think about the difference in floors from different facilities, How would get from my apartment to my roof?
- Well, since my apartment is on 9th floor and the roof is on the 20th floor, I would have to take the elevator or stairs up 11 floors. Which will get me to the 20th story.
- Equation: 20-9= 11
- Oh! Another thing that I was going to think about was the amount of floors I would have to travel between the laundry room and supermarket.
- So the difference between the laundry room and supermarket is that there are 18 floors. Since the laundry room is on the 19th floor and the supermarket is on the 3rd floor.
- Equation: 18-3=15
