- A post war plan between Soviets (green), the US (inblack), and Britain (grey), to figure out what to do.They decided to divide Germany up into zonescontrolled by their military sources, Germanywould have to pay compensation to the Sovietunion.
- In the conference they had felt that dividing Germany would be the safest so they decided to make new democracies in occupied Japan and Germany. They had wrote the new constitution in order to protect the rights of all citizens
- Europe was divided by east and west, and Germany was spilt into 2 sections. Churchill had described the division as the Iron curtain, as in the Soviets trying to take control of the neighboring country. Stalin had responded angrily to this.
- A doctrine that gave support to foreign countries who rejected communism. As a result even though it caused great controversy Congress had immediately gave aid to Greece and Turkey.
- The Marshall plan was a program to help rebuild western Europe as it laid in ruins after war. The program would provide them food, machinery and such. While congress was debating on the expensive program the communists had seized power in Czechoslovakia which made them approve immediately.
- The Berlin Lift had happened as a result of the soviets closing off west berlin since they wanted to keep their enemies weak and divided. The city was facing starvation. The American and British people had flew over supplies in west berlin for about 11 months. Stalin admitted defeat on may 1949 and lifted the blockade.
