Daughter comes home from school and shows her mother he report card. Mother: You did not do very well this semester. Until you get your grades up, you are not allowed to go out with your friends, you're grounded.
Daughter: But my friend is having a party tonight and the whole school will be there! Mother: You need to spend more time at home studying and less time out with friends, school is very important. I want you to get into a good college.
Daughter: You are the worst mom ever! I hate you!! Mother: Go to your room and study for the exam you have coming up.
(A couple days later) Daughter: Mom! I got my exam grade back. I got one of the highest grades in the class! Mother: I am so proud of you, I knew you could do it
Daughter: I'm sorry I called you the worst mom. I was just angry because I did not want to miss my friends party Mother: It's okay, sweetie. I just want the best for you. I want you to have fun, but school comes first
Flash forward to high school graduation The Daughter kept her grades up and is going to an IV league school. Daughter: Thank you mom for always pushing me to do my best. I would not have made it if it wasn't for you.
