  • Maryland
  • Virginia is Here
  • Pennsylvania
  • British Government used external indirect taxes on imports for a profit to pay off debts (glass, tea, lead paint, and more). This angered the colonists and led to boycotts and Riots
  •  A few British troops came to Boston to keep the peace, however they were met with rude and belligerent colonists. This interaction led to 5 colonists dead. (However colonists instigated it and John Adams defended the British troops). The cause of the colonists being angry, was the way the British were taxing and treating them
  •  Each of the 13 colonies selected a correspondent for their respective colony, to provide unity among the 13 colonies. Also the committees of correspondence rallied colonial opposition to the British.
