- Bruno had a private tutor and Shmuel was taught by his mom, who was a teacher.
- Bruno was in a house, treated well, menwhile Shmuel was in the concentration camp treated horrible.
- Bruno was born in Germany, which makes him German. Meanwhile, Shmuel was born in Portland, which makes him Jewish.
- Bruno is ignorant about the situation Shmuel is in and is jealous of Shmuel. In the other hand, Shmuel s fully aware of his situation.
