- At night, Iago approaches Roderigo and instructs him to hide outside the brothel and ambush Cassio in the street.
- When Cassio then approaches, Roderigo attacks but is unsuccessful and is injured by Cassio.
- Iago then comes from behind Cassio, stabs him in the leg to wound them both, and runs away while Cassio screams cries of murder.
