- Welcome to comics for kids, an online comic study guide. I'm Ben, and today I'll be your tour guide through Medieval times, telling you all the things you need to know about guilds and life in the middle class!
- Question... Where and why did gthe middle class emerge?
- There were originally only 2 classes, the nobles, and the laborers, but there was a group that came from the more wealthy class called the merchants. They were freer and had no set class. Once cities were focusing more on trade the merchants became more of a middle class rather than a group.
- Guilds - associations formed by merchants and artisans (middle class) after they gained economic and political control. There were both merchant guilds and artisan guilds, both of which believed in/ represented something different.
