  • About 150 years ago, scientists along with the other physicist contributed to the development of electromagnetic theory - a theory that covers the basic principles of electromagnetism. With that being said, please join me in presiding over this simple debate and let us see which scientists have contributed the most to the development of the theory.
  • It is Hans Christian Oersted who contributed the most, his discovery marked the beginning of a revolution in the understanding of electromagnetism, providing the first connection between what had been thought to be two very different physical phenomena.
  • I beg to disagree but it's Andre-Marie Ampere who discovered that a wire carrying an electric current can attract or repel another wire next to it that's also carrying an electric current.
  • Heinrich Hertz is still the best among the rest because he's the one who showed experimental evidence of electromagnetic waves and their link to light
  • Not to brag but without James Clerk Maxwell's theories, Hertz will not be able to show any experimental pieces of evidence of electromagnetic waves. Moreover, he contributed in developing equations showing the relationships between electricity and magnetism.
  • I completely get all your arguments but without my man Michael Faraday, Maxwell wouldn't be able to develop his equation and Hertz will not be able to show his evidence. In addition to that, his experiments led to the discovery of the law of electromagnetic induction. He is the root of this theory, a man who is as smart as me. With that, I now announce myself as the winner of this debate. Thank you!
