- In chapter 1, we are introduced to the Finch family. Jem and Scout are sibblings and Atticus is their father. Dill moved in next door and became Scouts and Jems main friend.
- Chapter 4
- In this chapter, Scout goes to her first day of school. Her teacher Miss Caroline doesnt like the fact that Atticus was teaching her to read. Miss Caroline also sees that the some of the kids are very poor as one of them does not have a lunch.
- Chapter 5
- Walter cunningham was invited over to the Finches house to have dinner. To Scouts suprise, Walter pours syrup all over his food, making a big deal out of it, Calpurnia pulls her aside to talk to her about having manors.
- Chapter 6
- After school Scout was walking by the Radley house when she saw a knot hole in a tree. There was two sticks of gum. Later when she comes by again, she finds two indian head pennies.
- When Jem and Dill become even closer, scout has no where else to go other than her neightbor Miss Maudie. Miss Maudie describes to Scout about Boo Radley and how he had a harsh father. Jem and Dill try to give Boo Radley a note but are caught by Atticus.
- Scout, Jem, and Dill decide to fin their way into the Radleys yard and peek into the shudder. When they hear a gunshot they all flee. As Jem crawled under the fence his pants come off and they try to get back to the neighborhood crowed before anyone get suspicious.
