  • Chapter One
  • Those birds were very noisy....
  • Edna,, you are very sunburned....
  • The beach was so much fun!!!
  • Good talk but I have to go back home and make dinner
  • Chapter Two
  • Mexico sounds fun....
  • Chapter 3
  • Don't overreact.... He is fine
  • Edna wake up! Raoul has a fever!!!!
  • Léonce goes to the cottage to escape the sound of the birds and watches as his wife, Edna, strolls toward him from the beach, accompanied by the young Robert Lebrun. He noticed his wife is sunburn, returns the rings and invites Robert to come play billiards but he declines and continues to talk to Edna.
  • Chapter 4
  • You don't have to hide these things from me Madame Ratignolle
  • You sure you want to be eating that with your.... condition
  • Robert and Edna are talking happily, they speak on people and surroundings when Robert brings up the idea that he wants to go to Mexico. Edna tells him that she has to be back for dinner.
  • Chapter 5
  • Oh yeah I used to have a thing for Madame Ratignolle
  • Leonce comes home, goes to check on his sons and informs Edna that Raoul is sick she doesn't seem to care and goes back to bed but Leonce instants she gets up critizing her habit of neglecting their children.
  • Chapter 6
  • Saying yes to Robert might have been the best idea or worst...
  • Madame Ratignolle is introduced in this chapter as the embodiment of the "mother-women,". Her and Edna are speaking to each other about the candy leonce gave her when Madame Ratignolle says that pregnant women should not eat candy but doesn't say that explicitly.
  • Robert is known to always be in situations with other women, so when he always wants to talk to Edna, she is not shocked but their relationship was different. Robert treats Edna more like a crush than a friend.
  • Sure **blushes**

  • Edna starts to discover herself more and realizing what her purpose is, She starts to understand the limitations of the world. The author connects her self-discovery to the sea.
