Storyboard Description
People should care about the issue of homelessness. For example, homeless people cause expenses in the economy. Also, homeless people can carry diseases. This is only some of the reasons why you should care about the issue of homelessness.

- Don't cry, son. We'll survive.
- *Crying*Mom, we haven't eaten in 2 weeks.
- This tent will do for a couple days.
- May I have some food and clothes? I am starving and I reek.
- Sure, sir! What are your pants, shoe, and shirt sizes?
- Past:Homelessness in America generally started becoming a huge issue in the late 1800s. Though, the publicstarted to see this as a national issue when The Great Depression started, increasing homelessness massively. According to my source, “Homeowners lost their property when they could not pay mortgages or pay taxes. Renters fell behind and faced eviction.” (Source Link) My issue has increased over the years, sadly, all over the world, too. The public has tried to help stop the issue such as raising awareness and making homeless shelters and pantries. There hasn’t been anyone or anything to stop the attempts at decreasing homelessness, which is great and means people are willing to help this cause. As of 2020, 18 of 10,000 U.S Americans are homeless.
- Present:As mentioned, my topic is homelessness in recent years. The people affected by this issue are undoubtedly homeless people. The public response that my topic is getting is giving little help such as dollar donations. Homeless shelters have been placed around towns. The increasing amount of homelessness is what’s stopping the issue of homelessness from being entirely stopped. According to my source, “Over 65% of the homeless population in America is in homeless shelters.” (Source)
- Future:In the future, an organized program that sends help to homeless states in America. What I mean by this program is that it sends similar and equal help to all states that need help in homelessness aspects. This program will send food, clothes, and some money for other purchases to homeless centers in countries. This will need to be sent to all of the countries in need the most out of the 50 states (which will be decided by statistics) at the same time. For example, some of these states would be New York, Hawaii, and California, “When analyzing the ratio of homelessness to state population, New York, Hawaii, and California had the highest rates in 2020.” (Source) This will need to be done so the program doesn’t get backlash/hate.
