Storyboard Text

  • During the Peloponnesian wars, the Athenians made a huge mistake, resulting in the end of the war. They went to gather supplies, leaving there ships docked at the port. Not careful enough, the Spartans came and stole their ships, and without their navy, the Athenians were weak. The Spartans won, and Athens fell. After that, Athens no longer had the power to sustain the Delian League, and the city-states were freed. Then, the Macedonians captured Greece, and the Athenian empire fell.
  • After the loss at Thermopylae, the Persians marched on and razed Athens to the ground. Luckily, the army that had fought at Thermopylae had held them off long enough that the navy could get everyone safely out of Athens. It was not over yet. After regrouping, the Greeks attacked the Persians by surprise, and the Persians fell, and the Greeks were finally free. The city-states came together and created the Delian league against further Persian attacks.
  • After he conquered the Achaemenid Persian Empire, Alexander the Great went on to the capital of Persia, Persepolis, and burned everything down, men and all. He had finally gotten his revenge for Greece and fulfilled his father's wishes. The Persian Empire was done. In triumph, they feasted, but the great hero Alexander the Great fell to a little disease, called Malaria.
