- Colonists were angry about how they had to pay taxes (which they didn't mind) but they had no representation in government.
- Due to the colonist's anger, they began to throw small objects such as rocks or snowballs.
- In response, the British soldiers killed 5 men. The reason this was called a massacre was because, they wanted the public to see this and revolt to becoming a patriot to go against the British or the loyalists.
