  • It was because he believed that they were the only common people thanks to the Jacksonian Democracy.
  • Jackson's opponents called the practice of rewarding political supporters with government jobs the spoils system.

  • It is because I voted for Andrew Jackson and promoted me with a government job. This is known as the spoil system.
