- What's your name you may askMaya Angelou am I.On April 4th 1928I first saw my mother's eyes.
- From early age I left to live,with my grandmother far away, Coming back to my mom was very hard,it was evident I could not stay.My mother's boyfriend once hurt me,and he was sent away.Mute I became for 6 long years,and that was how I stayed.

- I loved English and writing from a very early age.I wrote essays, poetry, and joural enteries on a page.
- I moved back in with my motherand went to George Washington High School.I studed dance and drama,at the time I was quite cool.
