- The patriarch Abraham made a covenant with god promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan that one day this would be his descendants’ promised land. Years later, a famine struck in Canaan(today called Israel). Abraham’s grandson Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Hebrews/Israelites grew and practiced Monotheism the Pharaoh became mistrustful and enslaved them all!!

- Moses was a hebrew who was raised in the palace of the Pharaoh of Egypt. He wanted to leave the palace because the Pharaoh was enslaving the people.The Pharaoh wouldn’t let the Hebrews out of slavery
- These are the Ten commandments.
- Grasshoppers ate their crops, there were frogs in their homes, there was lice in their hair, all the candles went out in Egypt for a couple of weeks.They had to smear the blood of a pure lamb over their door.

- That the Israelites leave Egypt.The Sinai Peninsula.The Freedom of Hebrews is called the Exodus and is remembered during the week of the passover.
- The Israelites headed back towards Canaan through the Sinai peninsula.He received the ten commandments from God on mount Sinai. They tell the Israelites how to behave towards God and one another.
- Moses died in the desert so Joshua, his assistant, led the armies into Canaan, the conquered Jericho. The Israelites conquered several small kingdoms, called tribes...Some settled in the south, north, and east.
