The patriarch Abraham made a covenant with god promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan that one day this would be his descendants’ promised land. Years later, a famine struck in Canaan(today called Israel). Abraham’s grandson Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Hebrews/Israelites grew and practiced Monotheism the Pharaoh became mistrustful and enslaved them all!!

Moses was a hebrew who was raised in the palace of the Pharaoh of Egypt. He wanted to leave the palace because the Pharaoh was enslaving the people.The Pharaoh wouldn’t let the Hebrews out of slavery
