- Fort Sumter was located in south Carolina and this would be the first fight of the Civil war on april 12, 1861.
- Troops there in the fort slowly running out of food ,and couldn't get any because of South Carolina seceded.However,President lincohin didn't want to give up fort,only sent supplies.
