- Latin american nations wanted to be liberated from spain but they were limited in resources. so they launched a revolution then spain left them alone

- The U.S. wanted war with britain because they kept seizing ships and soldiers so U.S declared war. Then U.S. won and britain left ohio valley and stopped attacking U.S. ships

- after Latin Americas were free of spain's rule G.W. announced to europe to leave the Americas alone. Then Monroe closed off colonization from Europe and established U.S. as a strong power
- france wanted U.S. to aide in their revolutions but U.S didn't have the supplies or money so George Washington declared neutrality. Then France started attacking U.S. ships

- The U.S. wanted peace with france but XYZ spies stopped the envoys that Adams sent and demanded tribute. so Adams refused and started to build ships and recruit an army
