  • the British wanted to stop America from getting other countries to become allies with them. So they decided to send 3 armies to New York, but only 1 army actually ended up going.
  • We Won!!!
  • On September 19th the British and Americans ended up fighting at a abandoned farm.
  • The battle lasted for several hours, neither side really taking more ground than the opposing army. The British had a lot of casualties and couldn't push through.
  • The Americans ended up winning the war which made a big turning point in the war. It convinced other countries that America could win the war so they decided to ally with them.
  • After the battle, there were multiple countries that decided to ally with America after seeing that they could win the war. Maine and France were 2 important ones.
  • The French's navy provided lots of support through the war and helped America win battles. The French ended up being one of America's biggest allies through the war.
