Storyboard Text

  • Excuse me miss, but I am really attracted to you and according to Newton's laws of gravity, you must be attracted to me too.
  • What is Newton's laws of gravity? DIdn't an apple fall on him?
  • Newton's Law of Gravity is that all particles attract every other particle in the universe with force! How could you not know?
  • Because I don't care enough! But I guess gravity is kinda cool, because gravity pulls things down! That's what I know.
  • Friction is when an object slides, rolls, flows, or rests on another object. An example of rolling friction is this skateboard. The wheels move and spin, causing the whole board to move. Just like cars or a wagon. It would be very hard to push without wheels.
  • Cool ain't it? But hey, can I hold your hand, because I'd like to test the friction between us?
  • What is friction? And how can you tell if friction is being made?
  • Wyatt approached Claire on a fine afternoon in the city. On sight, he immediately fell in love with her, and him being a geek, cracked a gravity joke. Yet, Claire has no idea how gravity works. Shocked with what he was hearing, he began to teach Claire about gravity, friction, elasticity, and magnetism.
  • Friction is seen everywhere! But guess what, you must be a magnet, and I am a staple, because I'm very attracted to you!
  • Do you reuse the same jokes? Magnetism is the attraction of two objects with force, that are created by electrical charges. Things that are magnetic are attracted to each other. Most metals are magnetic like iron and nickel silly!
  • Want to come to my house? I have a trampoline!
  • Gravity is the force that pulls all objects down, because everything is attracted to the center of the Earth. Gravity pulls and never pushes. An item's weight is dictated on how hard gravity is pulling on an object. Objects with a bigger masses have a stronger gravitational pulls, causing a larger mass.
  • Are you a rubber band because I can't help but come back to you!
  • Right!
  • Or like a trampoline? Those have elasticity too, don't they?
  • Wyatt and Claire are walking through the city, seeing examples of gravity, friction, magnetism, and elasticity everywhere! Wyatt is trying to test Claire on what she knows about friction, Clearly, she doesn't know much. He goes on to explain rolling friction and an example is a skateboard.
  • Why not? Where would you like to go but it has to involve physics!
  • Well I guess we both learned something new about physics. But that reminds me, would you like to go on a date?
  • As Wyatt tries to win over Claire, she happened to know all about magnetism! Wyatt, taken aback by her sudden knowledge of such a topic, he laughed. He was such a physics nerd. Magnetism is seen very often in our lives, but less often than friction and gravity is.
  • Elasticity is found in the hair ties you used to hold back your hair, trampolines, rubber bands, some strings. Other elastic items include slime and some clothing types. Elasticity is the ability to return to its original state once it is stretched a certain length. Trampolines, for example, stretch down when there is force applied to it, and bounces back to its original state.
  • And finally, Wyatt and Claire learned four major physics topics, gravity, magnetism, friction, and elasticity. And Claire learned her newfound passion for physics, and they became fast friends, with their old and new love for physics.
