- The Cold War was a political rivalry between the United states, the soviet union, and their allies. They did not directly battle, but fought indirectly in the arms race, proxy wars, and the space race.
- How did it start?
- The cold war originally began because of a few reasons; one was tensions between the two nations at the end of World War II; A second was the ideological conflict the United States and the Soviet Union; And the third, the emergence of nuclear weapons, and the fear of communism in the United States.
- What were some key parts in the cold war?
- One was the containment of Russia; the arms race, the next was the development of the hydrogen bomb, Then space exploration, and lastly, the fall of the berlin wall, which united the people and loosened tension between the two sides.
- What happened to the Russians after the war?
- For the soviets who won the war, the iron curtain was lifted and the soviet union disintigrated.
- What happened to Americans after the war?
- The Cold War shaped American foreign policy and political ideology, impacted the economy and the presidency, and affected the personal lives of Americans creating conformity and normalcy.
- What was the relationship between the two sides after?
- Well, there relationship wasn't the same. The two countries changed from being friendly allies to being fierce rivals.
