Bixby ALexander Tam is a boy who they call bat he acts like a bat but hes a human he picky he does weird thing like pretend his arms are wings and th first letters of his names spell bat

His mom is a vetenarian and had to watch a baby skunk found on the rode and bat got attached to the skunk and wanted to keep him. but his mom said he cant keep the skunk. he couldnt keep the skunk because he is not ready for a pet his mom thought.
at school he was thinking ways of how to get his mom to let him keep him then he remembered it was friday and on the weekend he has to go to his dads apartment he dosent like his dad because he thinks he is like a sporty boy and feeds him stuff he dousent like.
near the end of the book he is still trying to change his mom mind about him keeping him. after a while when he was just when then he about to give up h gave it one more big try he even emailed a famous skunk researcher to try to convince his mom and finally won and got to keep him.
In the book the boy called bat the moral lesson is to do the right thing and try your hardest and never stop trying.
