  • LISTEN TO ME OR ELSE!!
  • Problems started between Acadians and British grew .France and Britain were on the verge of starting a war. In the year 1755 Governor Charles Lawrence said to the Acadians to sign an oath of a allegiance.
  • RUN!!! before they find us
  • This meant that the if Britain and France went in to war the Acadians would have to fight the French but the Acadians said no to the offer .In 1755 Britain ordered the expulsion of the Acadians.
  •  The Acadians were put up and deported onto ships .Around 10 000 people were forced onto ships with out their consent and sent to Europe or distants to Britain colonies what is now known present-day in United States of America.

  • Some of the Acadians managed to escape and they went into a forest and find refuge with the French or the First Nations communities in the area. Others sadly died because of the exposure or starvation while hiding.
  • Around one-third of people who were forced into ships and sadly died before they reached their spot. People were separated form families and didn't find their families and some people never found each other they where lost.
  • And the Acadians were forced to remove from their communities the British burned down homes and destroyed their farms so they Acadians would not come back to Acadia. And the expulsion lasted for 8 years ended in the year 1763.
