pearl harbor was bombed and Jeanne's father was considered guilty after delivering oil to a part of Japan.
Resolution
Jeanne's Father returns. Jeanne notices that he's not the same and that jail changed him.
Theme
The theme of the story is that unexpected things can happen and you have to be ready to face them. Terrible things happen to Jeanne and she deals with them. She faces her father's death and a lot more things. There are many conflicts in the story. To name a few there was her father's disappearance and her father's death.
The family was allowed to leave the camp. Things were hard because there wasn't much housing and not many people wanted them there.
Jeanne visits what's left of the camp after many years. She understood why she was there and why she suffered so much. She understands the War and she respects her parents for it.
