- Katniss Everdeen is a girl who lives in district 12, which is a very poor district that does not have a lot so she relies on hunting. she is very adventurous and fierce. Peeta Mellark is a boy who is pretty wealthy in district 12 and works at his parents bakery. He is a very innocent boy, very nice, and caring.
- Theme
- The story takes place in a place called Panem, which is located in north america. It takes place in an unspecified future time.
- The conflict of the story is all of the tributes fighting to the death until their is only one person remaining. Katniss must play the game smart to be the last one standing. The last person standing wins the hunger games and receives income from the capitol of Panem for life.
- One theme of the story is that friends will be there when you need them. At the end of the story, the only two left were Katniss and Peeta, so they threaten to both die if they don't let both win. This scene shows that they are there for each other and have each others backs.
