The French Revolution started on May 5, 1789 and it ended in November 9, 1799. There was a lot of political conflict going on. There was tension about the absolute monarchy.
The French Revolution happened becasue King Louis XVI needed money and he had then called a meeting and then started protest. There was social inequality, unfair taxes. there was also poor leadership.
The clergy they wanted to reorganize the church. This had made caused a schism. They wanted civil equality. They wanted to get rid of feudalism and replace it with a different type of government system.
The nobility wanted greater political influence.The king tried to fix this but did not work. They had different social classes like common people. bourgeoisie, and peasants. All of them wanted rights equal.
The commoners wanted resented tax on salt becasue they wanted to preserve food. The bourgeoisie did not like being excluded from decisions of political power which caused them to resent being treated different. The peasants did not agree with the feudal system.
It ended when Napoleon overthrew the revolution. It did last a total of ten years. But after many victories Napoleon stormed into Bastille he overthrew the government and then he became Consulate which was their leader now.
