Hey Kyle! Did you know that ostriches used to fly? And they actually didn't use to be like that.
Oh really? But how?
You see, it's 'cause of evolution. Due to some circumstances, it had to change its form to survive.
So it developed a larger body and feet made for running on land, but it lost its ability to fly. 'cause of its heavy body.
Well actually, their wings still have purpose. They hold their wings out to help them retain their balance when running, especially when they suddenly change direction.
It still have wings though. What is its use now if it can't fly? I bet it'd be useless.
Oh, so that's how it is.
Even your favorite penguin, Kyle. Just like the ostrich, they had to sacrifice the ability to fly, but this time, for the ability to swim.
Of course! Everything has gone through evolution and it still continues, but it sure does take a really long time.
