- It was a fine Sunday afternoon when Kapitan Andrew called the other barangay officers for a sudden meeting
- Greetings to all attendees! This is Kapitan Andrew of Barangay Balisong, thank you for responding to this sudden meeting. As you have known we are currently facing a disaster and effects from the eruption of the Taal volcano. Let's admit it, though we have met the need and we can aid the needs of the people during the disaster, we can't say that we are fully ready in case the volcano erupts again.
- Do you have any suggestions on how we can be prepared incase another unfortunate event occur?
- Kapitan, I do have a suggestion.
- Sure, Kagawad. The stage is yours.
- That's right! We could provide them with pamphlets and infographics as well. It is important that the people are aware of matters like this to ensure their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
- As you all know, the Philippines is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The majority of Earth's volcanic eruptions and earthquakes take place along the Ring of Fire.
- What I am trying to say is that we should always be ready and aware of the things that may occur in the future. We could provide the people with seminars and training with regards to disaster risk management, educate them about the things that are needed to be done during disasters like the Taal Volcano eruption.
- Also, may I add something, Kagawad?
- Sure. Mr. Secretary. Please feel free to do so.
- We could also assign disasters team to assist the people and aid to their needs incase something like this occurs again. These teams could help organize the facilities, manage the supply of donations and even the distribution of the necessities to the families.
- That's a great idea, Mr. Secretary. It would be easier for us to provide for the needs of the people if we have more manpower.
- Thank you also, Kapitan!
- I must say, I was impressed by your ideas and suggestions. I hope everyone is able to grasp the essence of our meeting today and apply it to our barangay so we can see improvements.
