Storyboard Text

  • "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"By: William Wordsworth
  • I wandered lonely as a cloudThat floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,A host, of golden daffodils;Beside the lake, beneath the trees,Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
  • Continuous as the stars that shineAnd twinkle on the milky way,They stretched in never-ending line...
  • The waves beside them danced; but theyOut-did the sparkling waves in glee: ...
  • For oft, when on my couch I lieIn vacant or in pensive mood,They flash upon that inward eyeWhich is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills,And dances with the daffodils.
  • I believe the over all meaning of this poem is to illustrate the way the poet had experiences with nature. The poet thoroughly connects his experience and feelings with nature. The poet wants to share how he associates with the beauty of nature., and how anyone can have the ability to relate to nature as well. He is able to find his inner peace with nature, when he says, "Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils" having that connection with nature to not feel lonely, he finds companion in the beauty of nature.
