The King was finally excecuted in 1791 by guillotine. When Louis XVI became king, he was already in severe financial problems. As a last chance to solve this financial crisis, the king went to the three estates. They did not like this and arrested him and his wife. Then, in January, King Louis was convicted and sentenced to death.
November 9-10, 1799Coup of 18-19 Brumaire
W did it!
We have gained our civil right against the government!
The Revolutionary government decided to make “Terror” the order of the day (September 5 decree) and to take harsh measures against those apposing of the Revolution. There was excecution after excecution, millions of supporters of the king beheaded. Maximilien Robespierre was a key person that was arrested in this event. He had great dictorial power so when he was arrested, the Revolution gained a major win. 17,000 were officially ecxecuted.
This was the end of the Regin of Terror. The parliamentary revolt initiated on 9 Thermidor, year II (July 27, 1794), resulted in the death of Maximilien Robespierre and the fall of revolutionary passion. Some people that were there were Jacobin Club, National Convention, Committee of Public Safety, and of course, Maximilien Robespierre. They were all excecuted by the revolution. This was one of the last steps of winning the French Revolution.
This was known as the end of the French Revolution. During this period, French citizens razed and redesigned their country’s politics. The citizens started uprooting centuries-old institutions such as monarchy and the feudal system. The towns folk were finally able to overthrow the government of France. This gave way to the despotism of Napoleon Bonaparte
