- over the years decomposers and bacteria such as fungi will decompose the bodies of the dead animals into the soil so the soil will become fortified with nutrients and soon pioneer species such as moss and lichen start to grow in the ground of the forest and as they are pretty low on the ground and there are no tall trees in the forest they can get plenty of sunlight and nutrients from the soil to grow. Then shrubs will start to grow as well which will provide a issue for the ms slightly taller and will be able to reach more sunlight thus the competition of survival of species starts from here
- However, in a series of forest fires in 1988 large areas of the forest had burned down due to regular forest fires in the area
- Soon as the moss and lichen as well as shrubs die off it gives the soil more and more nutrients so slightly larger trees such as pine, oak, willow, polars and birches will start to show up along the forest floor and it will create more competition across the forest as now the taller trees will cover the forest so the smaller plants will not be able to get much sunlight thus dying off much quicker
- The majority of the plants and animals had died off due to these forest fires as the wildfire burns majority of the vegetation and animals down. However when these plants and animals die their nutrients will be returned to the ground in the form of ash which will in the future help to fertilize the soil and help with the growth of new plants in the area
- finally we will reach a point where the forest has entered its climax community and the forest reaches it's final stages of development with its various species of plants an trees again.With the various plants animals are also soon introduced to area with the idea that first animals who feed on these plants arrive at the area followed by predators of these animls helping to reach a climax community and a healthy forest ecosystem again over the course of many years through secondary succession.
